It’s going to be a villainous Halloween

26 Sep, 2005

European release dates for City of Villains announced.

The day of our destiny approaches! After years of meticulous planning and preparation, our mighty Lord Recluse has announced that City of Villains will soon be unleashed upon the world. Rise and rejoice, my dark brethren! This Halloween will be a dark day for the so-called ‘heroes’ of Paragon City.

The European City of Villains servers will open on Monday, 31 October, 2005.

The game itself will be available in stores across Europe on Friday, 28 October, 2005.

Please bear in mind that, although you will be able to buy the game on Friday, the servers will not open until Monday.

If you don’t think you’ll be able to bear waiting for Halloween, though, there is an answer. Pre-order customers will receive a special two-day head-start over the weekend of 29 and 30 October, allowing them to begin their villainous careers and get the drop on the competition. So pre-order now to be among the first to prove their worth to Arachnos!

Lord Recluse - interrogated!

19 Sep, 2005

With the help of some well-known do-gooders (who shall be dealt with in due course), Lord Recluse was contained for just long enough to answer a series of questions about City of Villains on the Stratics site.

Despite his capture, however, he was still suitably elusive on some subjects…

Question: Are the epic ATs going to be shared between CoH and CoV? Will we be able to play Warshades and Peacebringers in both games? Coralax?

Lord Recluse: At release, we’re not including Epic ATs. That’s something that will come down later. So at this point I’m not saying what they might or might not be. Bwahahahah!

Read the complete transcript at Stratics, if you will.

First glimpse of US Beta

13 Sep, 2005

The brave minions of GameSpot have dared to enter the Rogue Isles and smuggle out a report on the current situation. Complete with exclusive pictures and movie footage, the article reveals more information from the US Beta of City of Villains.

Of course, the unsuspecting journalists responsible had no idea that their attempts to avoid Arachnos security measures were doomed from the start. Lord Recluse was well aware of their intentions and has been tracking their progress, allowing them to see - and reveal - only that which suits his purposes. Even now he chuckles over the fear that the report has inspired in Paragon’s so-called ‘heroes’.

We advise that all potential Arachnos recruits familiarise themselves with this information, to be better prepared for the tasks that lie ahead.

Black Scorpion exposed?

08 Sep, 2005

Desperate to raise public awareness of the threat posed by our mighty Lord Recluse and Arachnos, the Federal Bureau Of Superpowered Affairs continues to leak some of its most senstive files to the journalists at IGN. In the third such incident, all the information currently available to the FBSA concerning the deadly Black Scorpion has been made public.

Potential Arachnos recruits are advised to study this information - and to remember that for all their vaunted intelligence resources, the FBSA knows only what Lord Recluse has allowed them to ‘discover’.
