Merry Christmas in Pocket D
17 Dec, 2007
The holiday season has reached the Rogue Isles - Lord Recluse saves on coal
The weather is getting colder, snow has fallen in DJ Zero’s dimension and a very special guest has arrived in Pocket D.
Father Time has returned and a few new people have taken position at the slalom slope outside.
There will be presents, badges, costume pieces and… cake!
By simply logging in and visiting Paragon City or the Rogue Isles between 17 December and 7 January, your character will receive a badge, a Fuzzy Earmuffs costume piece (so you can look stylish and keep warm while patrolling the streets or committing nefarious deeds), and the Holiday Spirit Temporary Power, which grants 24 hours of Debt Protection.
You’ll also receive the Holiday Cheer Temporary Power - a real gift of giving. By targeting another player and using Holiday Cheer, you’ll award them a Mystery Gift - which could turn out to be a sack of Influence, Infamy or Prestige, a Temporary Power, or maybe even a very recognizable hat.
Snaptooth again has streched out his vile hands and kidnapped poor Baby New Year to his cavern of ice. His Redcaps and snow monsters will stop all intruders from freeing the poor new year’s spirit and bringing an end to the winter’s cold reign. Are you super enough to thwart Snaptooth’s evil plans?
After finishing this task you are all invited to join us in a competition of speed and skill: A new skiing slope has opened, inviting you to race the clock in attempt to go for Gold, Silver or Bronze. Don’t forget to talk to the skiing intructor to start the clock.
Also there is new salvage to be won from fights: Candy Canes! Instead of ruining your teeth you can swap them for nice little presents with Candy Kane, who has also taken his place in the ski hut on top of the slope.
On top of everything else, the Gamester has loaded the streets and rooftops with his dubious gifts once more. His presents might hold an Inspiration or Temporary Power, or they might reveal less favourable items like a Lump of Coal, a Snowbeast, or maybe even a Winter Lord!
Have fun and don’t forget the spirit of Christmas: It’s more blessed to give than to receive.
