11 Apr, 2006

City of Villains free trials available now in Sweden, Norway and the UK!

Under the ever-watchful eye of Lord Recluse, the Arachnos Propaganda Section has continued its recruitment drive across Europe by securing deals with three of the finest PC gaming magazines from Sweden, Norway and the UK. Gamers from these countries who feel the call of the dark side should read on to find out how to secure an exclusive 14-day free trial of City of Villains…

UK - PC Gamer

imageBritish gamers can avail themselves of a 14-day free trial of City of Villains by picking up the May issue of PC Gamer magazine (No. 161), which is available now from all good newsagents across the UK.

The full game client is included on the cover-mounted DVD, a 14-day free trial code is printed inside the DVD case, and there are instructions for installing the game and creating a trial account in the cover disc section of the magazine itself.

For a further details on creating an account (and downloading the client, if you have any problems with the DVD), try our Free Trial page.

If you have any questions or need help with the game, be sure to visit the New Players section of the Official Message Boards, where many of our long-term players will be happy to help.

Sweden - PC Gamer

imagePotential villains from Sweden can give City of Villains a try with their very own version of PC Gamer. The April issue of PC Gamer Sweden (No. 112) is out now, and also includes a 14-day free trial offer.

The cover-mounted DVD contains the Updater files that will allow you to download the full game client, and you can get a 14-day free trial code from the magazine’s website at http://www.pcgamer.se/ - full instructions are included in the magazine.

Once again, a complete step-by-step guide to creating an account and downloading the client can be found on our Free Trial page.

Likewise, if you have any questions or need help with the game, be sure to visit the New Players section of the Official Message Boards, where many of our long-term players will be happy to help.

Norway - HjemmePC

Finally, Norwegian gamers can check out City of Villains for free with the April issue of HjemmePC magazine, also available now.

Follow the instructions in the magazine to register for HjemmePC’s website at http://www.hjemmepc.no/, and you’ll be able to download the Updater files required to download the rest of the client, and get an exclusive 14-day free trial code emailed to you.

For a complete step-by-step guide to creating an account and downloading the client, try our Free Trial page.

If you have any questions or need help with the game, be sure to visit the New Players section of the Official Message Boards, where many of our long-term players will be happy to help.

More trials coming soon!

Keep an eye on this site for details of further free trial offers coming to other countries across Europe soon - and if you live in Spain, be sure to click here for details of the 14-day free trial from MicroMania magazine.

0Posted by bungle on 27 Apr at 01:46

Is there any other way of obtaining a free trial rather than buying a magazine, it kinda ruins the point of a FREE trial if u have to buy something =/

0Posted by Fenriz on 27 Apr at 17:44

Please don’t fotget Luxemburg !! Everybody always forgets us in such things.. :(

0Posted by Wannabe on 28 Apr at 07:54

AARRRGHHHH what is PC gamer doing in Denmark? We want this game now!!!!

0Posted by Dave on 28 Apr at 17:58

How the heck is this free when we have to pay for a £5.00 magazine?!

0Posted by a on 28 Apr at 18:24

Not £5, £6.50

PC Gamer is a fucking rip off… Even if it was £5 it would be a waste of money.

0Posted by gotforce on 29 Apr at 23:19

go to mmorpg and register a free account, click the link on the main page ( if its not there, refresh til it is) and get your free code that way smile

0Posted by Onder Kilavuz on 30 Apr at 14:56

A world wide promotion would be great, instead of seperating countries.. :( you`ve got a sucky promotion manager kick `is/er ass asap. btw we all are ppl 2.

Erm.. well the money is for the magazine guys, and guess what, you get to keep that! Funny how capitalism works isn’t it......

2Posted by Crater on 02 May at 12:02

</strong>gotforce</strong>: Please bear in mind that the MMORPG offer is for the US version of the game, not the European one.

0Posted by Thanos on 03 May at 16:32

/Clap nice one, i guess Greece gets the boot again. Why the heck they dont sent a free trial code to every PlayNC account is beyond me…

0Posted by Mewhywhy on 05 May at 18:26

Hey, How about The Netherlands? we wanne play to XD!!!!

0Posted by Flainz on 06 May at 17:38

I really think you should make a deal with the danish PC Gamer.. You wouldn’t regret it smile

0Posted by gnollie on 08 May at 14:40

Hey, i wanna test this game and i live in Finland, is it possible that there will be a Finnish trial version of this GREAT game? If i could try this game, i could even start pay to play this game if it is good. Well, thank you anyway!

0Posted by Yzithateg on 18 May at 07:44

You get a code with PC-Gamer so I don´t think that is useable more than once so I don´t think it has a loophole like the US-cersion. I do agree with you poor sods… one want to try a MMORPG free before buying it. What would be worse than by it and then don´t like it?

I dont understand why people moan about buying gamers mags like PC gamer or whatever, for £5 you can try out LOADS of stuff, Read Lots of info, you could learn things from these books its not just for the disc.

If you buy it just for the disc then your missing out and probably dont have a large attention span anyways. That doesnt go for all peeps just most of the younger generation.

So in summery guys, for the £5 you pay, u get the mag, the info, Patches, Demos, Updates, Mods and possably a lot more depending on what you buy.
Playstation and xbox mags have less and for simalar costs. so this seems a bargin

You know what sucks is i own city of villians, an i cant even play it. They gave my a month free, still could not play....jus cause they dont sell game time cards in my city ANYWHERE… so i think they just shouldnt sold it in a city where they dont game time cards… SNAP

0Posted by Andy on 04 May at 16:15

So, there’s another free trial running in the USA and nothing for Euro servers..

2Posted by Crater on 21 May at 18:13

Andy: Not sure why you’re posting to a news story that’s over a year old… Try something a little more up to date. wink
