I am a Brit and I can see the funny side of this comment.  Its the sort of joke I make most Monday mornings, whinging about how unfortunate we are coz its ‘raining again’ even in the summer. 

However, I do believe that to show there is no ill feelings between the nations every British subsciber to the game should get an invite to the Villans Beta.

I’m English. It rains in London. We make terrible beer (well, lager) and our coffee shops aren’t much better. Nuff said.

Matneee is right… Sort of. The stuff we make is indeed usually terrible, the other stuff that is around is imported. The only reason British stuff would wake you up is that it burns your tastebuds with whatever is in it…

who picks the winners? a monkey with a crayon? id take rain, bad beer n coffee any day over cuckoo clocks, laderhosen and sneaking around at 3 am with beach towels. last time i was in muunchen it rained for 2 weeks solid and the coffee tasted like mud, beer was ok and in good solid portions. grrr im evil now do i win too? =p

I wouldn’t go as far as saying it was offensive, but maybe just a bit in poor taste. It seems its only acceptable to use stereotypes against us Brits! If the game event was at the recent Leipzig games convention in Germany and a similar comment was made I highly doubt it would have won!

Mind you, this is City of Villains. Villainy and controversy go hand in hand.

BTW every time I go to Germany it rains, and the coffee is just awful. Thankfully the beer is great /images/smileys/rasberry.gif

Nothing wrong with our Beer - If there was we wouldn’t be drinking so much of it would we.

We do get rain, but not any more than the rest of northern Europe.

As for the coffee, yes it sucks, buts thats because its all imported; now if we did actually make English coffee, I’m sure it would great.

i find it slightly offensive, but i dont think it was intended to be,otherwise it wouldnt have won.

I found it neither funny or offensive.

The further West you go in Europe, the more it rains. English rain is no wetter or funnier than German rain. I’m at a loss as to what constitutes “English” coffee and as for the beer, we have some of the finest ales in Europe.

Having said that, apart from the kinky clothes of the Weimar period and the fottball world cup songs, I can’t recall anything funnier coming from Germany, so fair play to the guy.
