CoV subscription fees announced

Pay just one price to play both City of Villains and City of Heroes.

NCsoft Europe is pleased to announce the final subscription fee for combined monthly play in City of Villains and City of Heroes: £8.99 per month, or €12.99.

Yes, that’s right; if you are already a City of Heroes subscriber, all you need to do to play City of Villains is purchase the box on or any time after release day - October 31st 2005. Your existing City of Heroes subscription fee will give you complete access to City of Villains’ diabolical features - as well as letting your hero stay in Paragon City.

If you have not yet played City of Heroes, and want to start your reign of terror over the Rogue Isles with City of Villains… then go right ahead! Simply purchasing City of Heroes in the future will give you access to all the heroic content of City of Heroes.

A question has been asked a few times here but dosn’t seem to have been answerd. I will try to re-phrase it as it also applies to me.

I bought the USA version of CoH before the Euro version went on sale.

Do I have to buy a US copy of CoV or can I buy a copy in Europe ?

I don’t want/expect it to give me another acct on the Euro servers - I just want it to upgrade my US CoH.

DC: We may produce a combined box at some point in the future, but for now you’ll need to buy both to play heroes and villains.

gen. pansington: The ‘game activation card’ contains the serial code you need to create your City of Villains account (or upgrade your City of Heroes account, if you have one). You will still need to register a Game Time Card or valid credit/debit card to activate your account and allow you to play the game.

Nulla Pax: As with City of Heroes, you’ll need a US version to play on the US servers.

Okay, so the store near me never got CoH, but they now have the CoV box on display, i am very interested, and wish to buy it, so my question is:- If i buy ONLY CoV what will i miss out on? (compared with owning CoV and CoH)

Its great 2 get my beta /images/smileys/grin.gif, but d/l’ing 1.5 gig when the server is running at 56k is taking ages :( , yea i know loads of ppl are d/l .....but im itchin 2 play , happy hunting all /images/smileys/smile.gif

Jabberwock: If you have City of Villains but not City of Heroes, you will not be able to create hero characters with the five heroic Archetypes, explore the whole of Paragon City, or access the heroic content and missions of City of Heroes. For more details, please see our FAQs section.

Excellent /images/smileys/smile.gif Now you just need to realize that the choice of servers should be free (US-EU), one of the few things SWG got right /images/smileys/smile.gif and you can’t let them best you in that regard now, can you? wink

I’m just pleased to see that common sense was used when deciding on the subscription fees… both games use the same servers and if you’re using one you can’t be playing the other. So congrats on being one of the few companies to actually think about their customers rather than their pockets /images/smileys/smile.gif Great job NCSoft

I have gone out and bought CoH but have previously pre-order CoV and have registered the preorder so do i use my CoH key to activate that or what? I’m confused :S
